The Question:Brotola Fish
Please can you tell me if fish known as "Brotola" that is served in Buenos Aires is kosher. Thanks Lisa from Australia
The AnswerIn general:

If the fish is served in a kosher restaurant then most likely yes. If you ask about a non-kosher restaurant, then the fish dish will be non-kosher in any case, not matter if it started with a kosher fish! Fish & seafood restaurants are normally NOT kosher (due to seafood, cooking with wine etc)

Also known as Red Cod. If you could find out the Latin name for it, this would help. Some fish of the cod family (freshwater cod) are NOT kosher, but others are. We did not find a positive confirmation for this fish.
